Problems - Basic Remedies: |
| |
-
Make sure your TV is set to the correct channel - this will likely be Channel 3 or 4 for TV1, Channel 60 or 73 for TV2.
- If you see a blue screen, turn off your VCR, then see if your satellite programming appears.
If not, using the remote that came with your TV, press the TV/Video or the Input button several times, watching for the satellite picture to appear each time you press the button.
|
| |
| If you see a Blue Screen: |
This may be a screen from your VCR. Turn your VCR on, then off again. If you still see a blue screen, see below for tips under the "If you see a Snowy Screen" section.
|
| |
If you see a Black Screen:
|
Normally, the DISH Network Guide or a heading at the top of screen will appear when you change channels. |
1. Unplug the power cord for your DISH Network receiver from the electrical outlet, and wait fifteen (15) seconds. |
2. Plug the power cord for the DISH Network receiver back into the electrical outlet. |
3. Watch the TV screen for a message that shows "Acquiring Satellite Signal",
then a message that shows "Downloading Program Guide". Allow both of these screens to finish. |
4. Try to change channels with your DISH Network remote. |
|
If you see a Snowy Screen:
|
| 1.
Make sure your satellite receiver is plugged into a power outlet and turned on. |
2.
Make sure your TV is set to the correct channel or input. |
- If this is TV1, and you are
using coaxial cable between the receiver and the TV, your TV should be set to Channel 3 or Channel 4.
|
- If you are using Yellow, Red and White cables
(RCA cables) between the receiver and the TV, your TV should be set to a "Video" input. (PLEASE NOTE: If you are having problems changing your TV to a Video input
- sometimes called "Line" mode - consult your TV owner's manual for more information.)
|
| - High
Definition TVs frequently use a Component Video connection (using Red, Green and Blue connectors)
for video signal, and audio (Red and White) to connect the receiver to the TV. Set the
TV to Component Video Input using the "TV/Video" or the "Input" button on your TV remote. |
| - If
this is the TV2 of a Dual
Receiver, your TV should be set to Channel 60 or Channel 73. |
3. If
you are using a VCR, make sure it is tuned to the correct channel (Channel 3 or 4) or correct video input. Try turning your VCR on, then off again. |
4. Reset your DISH Network receiver. To do this, unplug the power cord for your DISH Network receiver from the electrical outlet, and wait fifteen (15) seconds. |
5. Plug the power cord for the DISH Network receiver back into the electrical outlet. |
6. Watch the TV screen for a message that shows "Acquiring Satellite Signal",
then a message that shows "Downloading Program Guide". Allow both of these screens to finish. |
7. Try to change channels with your DISH Network remote. |
