Interruptions: |
| |
| The
most common cause of poor satellite signal is inclement weather. |
| |
Weather-Related Problems:
|
- Storms, heavy rain, snow, or very dense
clouds to the South
of your location may block
the satellite signal. Normal
viewing should return when
the storm passes.
- During a storm or high wind conditions, trees or other foliage that blow in front of the dish can block the satellite signal
from time to time.
- If you lose signal during cloudiness or very light rain, the satellite dish may need re-alignment. Contact your local DISH Network installer
(Blue Sky Satellite) to resolve the problem.
|
| Power-Related Problems: |
- Power surges in the electrical lines can
cause the DISH Network receiver to freeze
up or reset. Surge protectors,
rated at 1000 joules or higher, can help protect against power surges.
- Make sure all equipment is plugged into the surge protector, including the DISH Network receiver, your TV, and DVD player and/or VCR.
|
| Radar Interference Problems: |
- Radar detectors or radar jamming devices can also interfere with the satellite signal.
This usually happens at a particular time in a day. Watch to see if the problem occurs when a police vehicle is parked near your home.
- It can be difficult to locate the source of the problem when radar is in use near your satellite dish, but if the problem continues, please
contact Blue Sky Satellite Tech Support at: 1-800-819-6520, Option '3'.
